What do commuters face to get a ticket in Guindy station – Race course entrance?

I join the long queue that is waiting to get a ticket.. The crowd is moving at snail pace. All passengers have covered their nose to avoid the strong foul smell that emanates from a nearby place. Clinkering sound of bottles slightly distract me from the situation. Flies have a free hand and merrily fly from one place to another including the foul smelling place. Near the foot step of the ticket counter, some body has been gracious enough to leave behind a plastic cover containing Pongal. It can be copiously served for five people. Stray dogs freely roam in the place. Vendors are trying their best to sell the race books. Poor and needy approach the commuters for alms. Fortunately it was cloudy. Place is littered with train tickets, pamphlets, paper and all other items.  By the time i get the ticket, two trains have left the place.

Construction and maintenance of a free use public toilet, trees, cleaning once in every few hours and additional staff member during peak hours would certainly help the commuters.
