They take extra care

A common scene in the public bus during the peak hour is footboard passengers clinging to the foot steps. The bus is tilted to one side because of them. Teenagers want to impress and do acrobatic things like clinging on the window, holding the window and so on.  Office goers do not want to be late. School students have to reach the school on time. Driver’s rear view is also obstructed due to such activities. As the bus slows down, few passengers suddenly get down and some board. In such situations the driver takes utmost care to ensure that the footboard passengers are not hit while overtaking or passing through another vehicle. Driver & conductor shout “Get in “.  None are bothered. At times the tone and language of driver might be offensive and obscene. It is all for the welfare of the passengers. Though it is part of drivers duty, driving a jam packed bus with foot board passengers requires dexterity and temperament. .

This post is dedicated to all public transport drivers who take the extra care.
